How To Build
Self Confidence
You can successfully learn how to build
self confidence using the following four powerful
techniques:
1.
Tell yourself positive thoughts about your
abilities (even if you don't believe them!)
2. Picture
yourself succeeding at things
3. Want
this confidence badly enough
4. Fake
high confidence. Pretend you've already got the self-belief
that you want!
Why do these steps show you how to build self
confidence?
1. Telling yourself positive things
Telling yourself positive thoughts about what you
are capable of (confidence affirmations) can give
you the push you
need, to go out and try the very things you lack self confidence in.

How to build self confidence: Say to your mind things like "Come
on, I can do this"
or "I'm going to win at this!"
Encouraging yourself in this way builds
up your enthusiasm - so that you at least feel like giving things a go.
2. Picturing success
When you imagine your own successes, you get a
small taster of what it would feel like to be that successful...
Your mind builds a sense of
familiarity with success when you picture it happening to
you.
In your opinion, is it easier to get yourself to
do things when
you're more familiar with them? I would think your answer is "yes".
How to build self confidence:
Before you attempt anything, imagine the best way this event could turn
out. Picture the way you'll feel when you succeed. What will you be
doing?
Try to diminish your doubts, yet keep imagining
the best way things could happen. The more familiar your mind gets with
such positive scenarios, the more likely you are to go out and have a
go at the things you lack confidence in.
3. Showing your desire
You've got to want this positive change in
yourself strongly enough. This is the most important aspect
of learning how to build self confidence.
Attempting activities, and being successful in
them is the overall system for building self confidence. The
practicality of actually doing this is scary. When we attempt things
that we aren't sure we can do, we feel fear. My point: If
you don't want this confidence badly enough, your fear will get the
better of you.
To achieve fantastic, lasting change in our
lives, we must prove to the universe that we deserve it.
Fear is
usually what we must overcome to prove ourselves worthy of this change.
If you can overcome fear, that makes you courageous. It makes you
brave.
Courage and bravery are quite literally the keys
to success in learning how to gain confidence.
Before attempting something that you lack
confidence in, you might worry that you'll fail; that you won't be good
enough. If this worry/ fear is able to stop you
from attempting what you currently lack confidence in, then you aren't
ready for more confidence yet. This rule applies to all areas of self
improvement.
To have more confidence, you have to want it
enough that you are willing to break the fear barrier. For example, you
have to be willing to push through the fear of speaking in front of
those people. You have to be willing to break your fear of performing
badly at that sport. You've got to be prepared to bust open your fear
of people laughing at you.
How to build self confidence:
Become willing to prove to the world (by jumping life's hurdles) that
you want this positive change enough. Do things, even if you're scared
of doing them.
4. Faking high confidence
Learning how to have confidence can be a self
fulfilling
prophecy. When you pretend that you've got self confidence, by 'acting'
confidently, you actually start to feel more confident!

How to build self confidence:
Get yourself to do the things that you lack confidence in. Act as if
you've already got high confidence.
When pretending to be confident,
you'll notice the following positive
changes in your life:
People show you more respect. You feel like a
better, more important person.
You attract confident people into your life.
This makes life more fun.
You know that the way you're behaving is
creating positive impressions to others. You can sense that people
enjoy your company more than they did before.
You are a better friend, partner or family
member because your sense of confidence rubs off on these people. Not
only is looking confident great for you, it also enriches the lives of
others.
People will believe in you if you appear to
already believe in yourself. You'll find that others will offer you the
types of exciting opportunities in life that only people with high
confidence get offered.
